Gutslit - Skewered In The Sewer - Review

The first time I heard this band was the first live gig I attended after shifting to Pune. I was extremely connected with the music they played. I felt blessed to witness such mass destruction in such a short notice prior to each of the song. Yes they play real fast and doesn't wait for you to stand up and start moshing again. "Skewered In The Sewer" is the debut album by the Mumbai based Brutal Death (Orgasmic) band GUTSLIT.

"Prelude To Putrification" starts teasing you with some bold words which will capture your brain like its putting some spell on you to get screwed in the next minute as "Pustulated Phalic Entralment" follows up with the painful intro which almost hurt me bad till the flood of riffs and insane growl from Aditya Barve rolled in with insane combination of his dominance inside the song structure. The riffs and tiny solos are enough to make you crazy and shake your body with so much of intense drumming following your butt in the circle pit. "Offal Barter" felt like its just not enough to fucking stop doing crazy shits but also to go wild with the tone of crazy solos in between the over demanding deep growls. The bass line by Brutal Sardar can be analyzed more in "Circumcised With a Chainsaw" accompanied by intense vocals by Mallika Sundaramurthy. Perfect torture in a good way I say for this kind of pulling off in between those crazy solos.

I have watched this band live thrice and I am glad I experienced the drum machine Aron Pinto. "Aortic Cranial Disintegration", "Haemorrhoidal Brain Custard" got some intense drumming which would blow even cockroach's brain loudly. The song structure with those kind of riffs and genetically shaped breakdowns are really orgasmic. Who needs a partner to feel orgasmic of you have this album seriously ? I had to look around if anyone is holding a shotgun as said in "Pulp Face",  which is a scary one carrying the overall combination of band's sound. Now the torture seems to be increasing as I can feel some shouts near my heart as "Maze of Entrails" rolled in with so much of heaviness weighting more than  my headphones. Sick riffs by the machine guitarist as well I would say. The album didn't concluded with a goodbye attitude instead it punched you asking to fuck the pit up with the title track "Skewered In The Sewer" which carried so much of aggressiveness that I am literally shouting in between of the songs.

After the constant blow of brutality in the album, I feel is like its a vodka shot which would make you feel numb instantly. 9 tracks, 26 minutes and you want more off it with your full soul to hesitate involving in more of the tones of the band. What you waiting for grab this album now and support the Indian scene, I am so proud they are carrying Indian flags to some extreme fests this year. I hope they name their next album with more brain puzzling words and name their songs more hardly. Its simple if you had bunked English classes, don't try to read the track-list and embarrass yourself. I need to pee now.

Thrashfest...Enough Said.

I am writing this in a jolly mood. I still can't believe I reached Thane 31 hours ago with the guys from Halahkuh (spelled it correctly after checking the page thrice). Going back to my jolly mood, I had a friend whose birthday was on same day and he came from Bangalore to meet someone and celebrate which includes my presence as he is staying with me. I ditched him in a city where he came for the seek of me by 50 percent for Thrashfest and we both left for Mumbai to spent the day in two different parts. Marine Drive and Thrashfest. I shouldn't have done that ? Share your thoughts. This wasn't in jolly mood I will tell later why am in jolly mood.

PRE GIG

We reached Thane in the afternoon 2 or 3 hours prior to the start of show timings. I met a person named The Abhimanyu at bus stop and we were quiet together all the time bouncing here and there. I am lucky to see all the bands chilling in the green room and how frank and how interactive they are. (CHILL ! I DIDN'T EVEN SAID HI TO ANYONE) I just watched them and extracted all I can learn from them with my power.

My nose was fucked up and it was screwed with my some personal problems but OLD MONK gave me some power and I was all okay. All credits to Akshay Bar. That place is a magical place and everyone in the green room were speaking about it. I am glad I spent some moments with there with some good people.

After hitting the brain with dose of OLD MONK we headed towards the venue. Collected the Chaos CD and THRASHFEST was on.

Systemhouse33 : This guys does know how to make people dance sorry mosh. Those crunchy riffs and groovy beats already embarked the start of epic Thrashfest. The crowd was packed and the head was in shuffling mood. Finally after a long journey I am in the Thrashfest, in the dance floor (OH YEAH) watching a band ripping off people's calories like fireworks. They wrapped up with some intense solo works and groovy sound.

Deadbolt - Armament : These Kolkata motherfuckers does know how to control the crowd. These two bands thrashed the place with their stuffs and the crowd forgot they are on dance floor but on the mosh floor. All I was hearing was THIS BAND IS TIGHT , whoever was coming at the bar to drink water. What i was doing at the bar ? I was standing and enjoying as the place was too dangerous to stand. I wasn't in a mood to mosh so :P (GANDU MALUM HAIN APUN DRINK AFFORD NAHI KAR PAYEGA)

Sceptre : I almost could have missed this legendary band. I was in green room sleeping/tired/exhausted when Dr.Hex came and was praising about  Sceptre to Bapi da (H....U) (I can't spell it sorry). Dr.Hex's praising means something was going down. I rushed to the venue and MINDFUCK. Enough said, catch them live and feel it. The performance details are not free.

Halahkuh (Ctrl +C / Ctrl +V) : Monstrous set. I always loved the way this guys perform and specially the vocals. Screaming to growling MINDFUCK ! The solos were mind licking and it was insane the crowd was begging for more all the time. The Sepultura cover fuck. This guys are getting 5 times better with each performance. And thanks to them for making this RIDE TO THANE plan. It was worth it.

Threinody (FUCK I SPELLED IT CORRECT) : My review is getting cocky, may be cause I am listening some shitty POP music in the background. This guys are legend. The energy they have produced on stage and the way it came to us and we all went crazy in the mosh, pits HATS OFF to them. I am lucky to catch them live. Thrashfest already got installed in my memory of best moments. You should catch them soon LIVE.

Dio feat Friedman (Albatross) : The energy HOLY SEX ! I was mesmerized with their insane set. Fuck the leads made me come all the time. The vocals and the bass lines almost hypnotized me. Honestly when they came to Pune, time issues kind of distracted me from them but this set was so epic, I am now more stoked to their live gigs. They are fucking scary in the another side of your brain. You will be SCARE to smile.

Chaos : They are really chaotic. So much energy, so much perfection; almost felt like they were headlining the gig. Amazing set, enjoyed the set and felt so satisfied that the journey was worth enough. ( I AM HUNGRY) . Loved the way they kept on playing one song after song, all I was hearing was OUR NEXT SONG. Amazing, what else to say, I never owned a dictiory so I have no words to explain.

FYBFYBL (Devoid) : Thod Phod. Enough Said.

The gig finally got over and I wasn't even crying someone whispered Don't Cry. Insane thanks to Kunal Choksi and his team. This gig will be in my memory for long time. I forgot to collect a pass :( I wanted to keep it as memory and sell it on ebay after 50 years (photocopied).

Back to Jolly mood, I cleared my Pro Tools 101 exam 3 hours back. (Actually I was accompanied by few asses as well who helped me) (Pass Mark 40 out 0f 50) So I am dedicating this to Thrashfest. Bye, let me finish my Chicken Steak and go home. Signing off from Balewadi. (7 PM)

Thanks for wasting your time reading my 10 star review. (Chal Nah, Main Accha likha nah ? Kiss de deyo)

Impending Doom - Death Will Reign - Review

The first time I heard this band was via their epic track "Murderer" which actually made me crazy for a while and I became a huge fan of the band instantly. "Death Will Reign" is Impending Doom's fifth full length album produced and mixed by Will Putney (Thy Art Is Murder) that ensures your insane treat of some serious DOOM territory stuffs. The album was released on November 5, 2013 via eOne Music.

The album opens up with "Ravenous Disease" which doesn't leave an excuse to be disappointed with the beginning of the album. The riffs and breakdowns sounds so intense with their signature tone . DOOM fans must be aware of their old releases and like those records this record carries the similar trademark of brutality, rawness and spicy solos with massive breakdowns with the intense screaming.

Next is "Death Will Reign", you don't need to wait long for the title track and it does explode your ears in the first few seconds. What I like about this track is the melodic touch maintained in between the riffs and vocals. The screams are perfect and will always give you that - this is the stuff I would love to hear- from this band. With lyrics written with depth, spreading the believe in Christianity really makes easy for any other person who believe in God to enjoy some breakdowns, mosh and chill out with metal.

The album consists of 11 tracks which is sweet enough if you would ask for a treat from the band. Songs like "Beyond The Grave", "Doomsday","Rip,Tear, and Burn" , continuously maintained the trademark you wanna feel when you want to relate with Impending Doom. The songs are brilliantly written and arranged in the heaviest way. The album doesn't change much from the old records of the band but you can feel the maturity, the growth and the weight of heaviness in each track.

This record may make you happy for being the Impending Doom record you wanna listen or may upset you if you wished for something more, may be change in the form of music they always deliver. For me the album was a sweet treat with "The Great Divine" wrapping up the album and Salvation being the last word and followed by really touchy keyboard roll which obviously gave you the chance to imagine whatever you want to and conclude the album with.

Theories And Butterflies - After The Solstice(SINGLE) - Review

I am kind of off-the-ground of other genres now-days. Basically some old metal records are in the playlist. I play them or just watch videos like how to cultivate Marijuana etc etc. Oh wait , yes I am reviewing a Single named "After The Solstice" by a Pune based Alternative Metal band Theories And Butterflies. The band's name really impressed me, I assume the band can tell much about it.

Moving on with the track, the track starts off with a crunchy riff and followed by an intro that runs all around in the background when the vocals join in. The song is about betrayal as mentioned here, where the song is uploaded. The song is self produced and I must say it does sounds good but yes the crunchy feeling could have much better but I guess as the song is written on being-down phase, it sounds good.

The structure, the writing part is really sweet to ears and when the frustrated part of the song arrives with breakdowns and really painful lead follows in which is a good work by the guitar player I must say. The vocals are really expressive and yes took me back to some old memories. Everyone is betrayed and yes always there is a long night that never ends. Recently I had a night which was very long and I wished it would get over quickly.

The bass line constantly impressed me, it controlled the vibe of the song and balanced so neatly with drums. Overall alternative lovers should give their ears a chance to listen to this and give their thoughts. Okay, now time to grab some food and wash away all tears.

Coprocephalic - Gluttonous Chunks - Review

Coprocephalic is a Brutal Slamming Death Metal based in Taiwan, Taipei according to their facebook page formed in 2012. "Gluttonous Chunks" is their debut album released in 2013. The album is a treat to your brain poured inside all fairy tales which suffocate you very often with the artwork almost raping your imagination off. Somehow I can smell the band as a supergroup as all the members been associated to some sick bands.

Straight from the intro "The Nemesis Uprising" the band successfully pulls you towards their instant curiosity of how the album going to treat the ears. "Severe Contamination" follows up quickly with aggressive vocals, tighten enough to set your mood into slam zone. The riffs are orgasmic and the rhythm that keeps on hitting your tempo set in brain along with the beats from drums is fair enough to raise your hand in the air and start chopping. The solos, before I could explain how I feel the next track "Gluttonous Chunks" rolls in, again those sick vocals with orgasmic riffs. Solos are short so as the songs but the way they fitted in the structure is completely insane. The constant guttural vocals licking your ear drum is what I feel while I am blasting it.

"Inhuman Nerousis" is my favorite from the album which comes up next. It touches three minute as all the songs end up before they hit three minutes, simply stabbing your ears straight for that time. This song got some squeezing riffs in between which constantly pinch me. The riffs are so tasty, reminds me of eating chicken after 6 months.

"Injected with Violent Supremacy" is the longest track; slightly lesser then five minutes which is still a good vibe as your ears will bleed more happily. The riffs and blast beats are enough to blow your slam brain and completely explode the monster when you have such vocals always licking your ears.

Enough said, this 10 tracks album is a must dig for Death Metal/Slam lovers. The album holds some brutal tracks like "Pavement Of  A Thousand Torsos", "Scourging The Obese", which is my second favorite and its orgasmic I bet. The album wraps up with "Embryonal Coagulated Genesis" which is another sick track with riffs and melody combined in a brutal way like mixing chicken and beef together. The vocals are insane and kind of inspired me. The ending pulls off an imagination in me that locks me down in a room witha monster approaching towards me. I don’t know what’s going to happen but it ended badly yeah. RIP ME.

When you are done listening to it, you realize it was a 26 minutes album that almost killed you with powerful riffs by Peluso, aggressive vocals by Larry Wang, killer beats and insane bass lines. The riffs just keep on hitting you back and you can’t resist but just click the replay button. You can grab the record here. Currently the band is working on second full length titled "Throne Of Ooze". WHAT ? ALREADY ! Exciting :P YES !
