Bleeding Edge - Afterparty (Single) - Review

Bleeding Edge is a thrash/groove metal band from Pune, India. They recently released an orgasmic track titled "Afterparty". Remember those faded color and black & white days ? when we used to have a old box shaped TV or Radio placed somewhere in the house. This song reminds me that piece of sh*t and how badly I wanna smash it.

The songs starts off with a aggressive riff which might surprise you if you are waiting this song on buffer mode. The aggression continues with Shradul thrashing his guitar as well throwing aggressive words back to you. Really loved the way Karan showed his seducing power by torturing with the bass in between.

With Nishit killing on drums which completely fills in the groovy ingredients of the song, accompanied by thrashing riffs by both the guitar player Shradul and Habeel. The song structure is really done in a traditional way which reminds me of many old thrash metal bands. I tasted an influence of Gojira in the chorus part but don't know if the song carries more inspiration from other bands. I believe each band have some unique ingredients in them and this song defines Bleeding Edge's unique power of thrashing and keeping the groovy feel in you. Looking forward to catch them live again sometime soon.

This song is tempting me to have loads of beer. So listen this and get drunk as fu*k and destroy whatever you want; at least in your imagination.

Suicide : The discovery

Everyone knows what does the SUICIDE word means. In simple words giving up own life is SUICIDE. But have you ever wondered how the hell you came to know about it ? Well I am sharing my story.

It was an afternoon, I was probably 11 years old. There is a drainage system between the building I live in and the boundary wall which would look like a huge river for me; I mean my toys would fly from one side to another side. Also it was clean as no dirt would pass but only water used to wash clothes, to take bath usually would go through it. As usual I was playing out there with my little buddies, mosquitoes and ants.

The time might be around 3-4:30 PM when I heard a noise that sounded like "Aaaaghhhhghhhhrrrhhhh" from the building which was across the galli , I was not scared but confused  and didn't really knew what was that. It continued for sometime and it went off. I was done playing my games as my granny called up to do homework for school. I was washing my hands and legs when  a huge scream came and chaos spread out. I saw Fire Service officers and also Police and local peoples gathering with a woman constantly crying at 100 dB may be. I was rushed inside home by my aunt. I really couldn't figure out what was it. I went to my aunt's room in the first floor and tried to sneak in the room all people were making chaos. I clearly could see the rope hanging, with people crying out load on the floor.

I gathered all my courage and asked what was that, my granny said , "He was going through pain, so he decided to die" . She didn't said it so directly but yes in a way so that I don't freak out. I still sometimes can hear that painful  voice, wish I would have some knowledge about it. May be I could have tried saving that person's life.

"Life is never perfect, we just have to keep on trying to make it perfect."

Albatross - In the Lair of Dr.Hex (Single) - Review

Albatross is a Heavy Metal band from Mumbai, India. They released their Single "In The Lair of Dr.Hex" off their upcoming album "Fear From The Skies". The artwork for the album is yummy and sexy, which is also answering all your questions regarding how the album will sound. I recently experienced them live and the footage can be seen here. All I can say is they are best in their territory.

The song starts off with Biprorshee Das (Vocal) announcing :
"The rebellion had been crushed, |All hope, they say, was gone, |But in this dank, putrid room, |A new assassin was born!"

And bang, the crunchy riffs with an unique flavor pours towards ear, taking away all the sense of  present as the vocals hit its best notes. The song pulls me towards past, an imagination to a land of corpses. And I sit in a cottage in the middle of nowhere, draining the blood from the body I just finished chopping.

The Solos by Vignesh and Nishith just kept on pinching me with its crunchy sound, which continued throughout the song. The vocals sounded like knife being stabbed inside me and I am not hurt but felt better. The sound this band carries is unique and pure original Heavy Metal.

I tried to escape from drowning into the depth of the song but Dr.Hex kept on pushing me inside the song until he pulled me off and asked to join his army of Albatross. I couldn't disagree, he chained me in his hand; mesmerized with his power I finish this off with a knife placed near my throat. I am being hired to assassin those who won't grab this album when it's out.

My Rating - 4/5 (I gave this rating when Dr.Hex was busy choosing a weapon for me)

Alien Sky Cult - You Are Not Alone - Review

"You Are Not Alone" is the debut EP by Delhi’s Metalcore band Alien Sky Cult. It was released on 23rd February 2013 (yes am again late). I heard the tracks in a site but finally owned a copy of the CD via a competition done by the band. Formed in 2011 the band is promising and I know they will get huge in upcoming years.

The EP starts off with “Dominion”, which is actually the intro. The tone is sweet and the distorted guitars just can make you feel more hook to it as it alerts you that you are going to get crushed badly.

“Fate” takes its lead quickly and the breakdowns are worth enough to involve you with the song with Akkshit (Vocals) giving all his effort. The continuity from the intro to the first song kinds of remind me of As I Lay Dying, and which is so good.

“The Dark Field” is my favorite. The song actually gives a feeling like you are listening to an old metalcore record by a band which is huge now. Remember the feeling when we discover a huge band and dig their old records, and we say “Wow, they evolved from here”. The riffs are crunchy, tasty like chicken popcorns with breakdowns taking care of your back.

“I Am Hate” starts off a drum rolling followed by destructive work from the guitars and vocals joining in from a scale equivalent to coming over someone thrice together. The breakdowns, OMG are huge and make me feel proud they are from INDIA. I am really looking forward to catch this band live as this song is made for destroying the venues. The melody just bring back old days when I was much into metalcore, I wish the song would last for more, I am horny.

You Are Not Alone is a massive package of breakdowns, tasty riffs, sweet leads by Alien Sky Cult. The production plays a key role, hats off to Keshav Dhar, he really cooked this EP with some imported ingredients. This is a huge success for the band I think, I am excited for their future releases and also to catch the band live. Pune needs to witness them.

The Ep also consists of “Non Entity”, enough said, the title makes you aggressive, I am angry BITCH. The EP wraps up with “We Are Damned”, another track to destroy the venues and circle pits are must in this song. I am giving a pause! You must go and check this EP out especially when they bid goodbye shouting WE ARE DAMNED. Now, I am damned too, I need to piss off.

Hatebreed - The Divinity Of Purpose - Review

The Divinity Of Purpose is the sixth studio album from American Metalcore band Hatebreed. It was released on January 29, 2013. Yes am writing about it after a year. I finally decided to write down my thoughts about any new album I listen to.

The album take its lead with "Put It To The Torch", yes you heard it right. No casual intro, the storm of mosh arrives quickly with frontman Jamey tearing up his vocals and it follows throughout the whole song. The song structure is really stormy witch riffs sweet to ears and you wanna just punch in the air. Its followed up by my favorite "Honor Never Dies", the best part being the phrase in the start of the song (Sometimes, standing for what you believe/Means standing alone) that literally give me goosebumps and reminds me of another track they own "Destroy Everything". The breakdowns are literally the only thing you will believe to be so heavy and matured that will set yourself crazy with the touch of melody in between. (Damn I wanna punch you)

Moving on next, "On Your World", where you are being asked about heart. The lyrics reflect a motivational and strong display of own will. The riffs just made it more compact and will definitely make you believe you are strong enough to face this fuc*ed up world. Next is "The Language" which begins with a riff which is commanding you to finish up the beer and join back in the mosh followed by Jamey's command "Lets Do It"; along with confusing you about your speakers. This song will wake up your head and perfect for just keeping our hairs in the air with short singalong moments.

"Before The Fight Ends" is all about the energy left in you to go unleash in the mosh. With the intro riff reminding me of old school thrash bands, the whole song structure is skull crushing and I wanna punch someone again. This song will set you free even to go and run naked in a church.

"Indivisible" & "Dead Man Breathing" reflects the groovy side of the band. You just wanna spread your hand, legs wide and jump in the air, beware you might see your hands in the air and later fixed it up with glue.

Now the title song "The Divinity Of Purpose", the song explains itself why its not the first song of the album. Confused ? fair enough ! Cause this song is extremely tight from intro to outro and almost has got all the ingredients used to write the other songs. The bass line is so perfect with the rhythm and keeps you mesmerized in the song, all credits to Chris.

The album contains 12 tracks, and you might wonder if the album get over quickly in your music player. So what ? replay button is there, just press it don't hesitate. The album explains the real breed of music Hatebreed always played. Groovy, catchy, short, stormy, heavy etc etc. The album wraps up with "Idolized and Vilified" which doesn't make you feel the album is done but makes you more hungry, specially when "FUCK IT" is the last word.

Definitely a must listen album if you believe in hardcore.

Best 5 - Put It To The Torch, Honor Never Dies, Dead Man Breathing, The Divinity Of Purpose, Boundless (Time To Murder It)

My Rating : 4.5/5
